Paint and Granite..

So now comes the painting, and the granite was laid. It looks really good.

More Cabinets...

Cabinets, cabinets and more cabinets.... These are more cabinets in the nook that is in our bedroom. A desk will fit under the window for my computer. D & B

Cabinets

We installed some more cabinets in the kitchen. The doors are off for painting! D & B

A little help...

So Bubba needed a little help installing plugs...who does he get to help? ME! Are we having fun yet?

Working in the Kitchen

As you can see, Bubba is working in the kitchen. The bottom cabinets are in and he is putting in the plugs and switches. D & B

Sheetrock...DONE!

The sheetrocking is done! So now comes the texture and then the trim and cabinets! D & B

Sheetrock!

The Sheetrock has arrived! Today the 'rocking' starts...It will take about 3 days to rock, tape, float and texture this stuff. Then the finishing carpenter will start! Will be in before Christmas! D & B

Wires and insulation

So the wiring and insulation are done. And now the sheetrock will come! Yeah! We'll be in this place soon! D & B

Plumbing!

We have plumbing! It is all done... now on to the electrical! Move in date is Dec 22. D & B

The Fish..

So Saturday we went up the creek and did a little crappie fishing. Bubba really need a little R & R. Bubba is holding up his catch minus one. I caught the rest...total 13 crappie and 2 catfish! Did I point out that I caught more than he did? D & B

The View from the water...

This is the view from the lake back to the house and garage. It is going to be a really nice place! Oh, we were in the boat when we took this picture... we went up the creek and did a little crappie fishing. D & B

A ROOF!

A roof! Now we are in the dry! The crew that roofed the roof did it in about 5 hours! D & B

Back Porch

This is going to be my back porch! It is wonderful! The openings are a window and french doors that look out over the lake. D & B

Hard Work...

I am doing the hard work! Pulling out all the old nails. Notice I'm only on the 2nd rung of the ladder....any higher up and Bubba would have to do this.

a new resident...

Well this is the new resident, she has been living in the new house by herself for the last 2 weeks. We don't know where she came from, but she seems to have adopted us. She is really smart and loving....Bubba says we have to keep her. Hmmmm. D & B

To the studs!

Since the left side is framed up, it is now time to tear out the right side. To the studs and stripped down. D & B

Rafters & Wall siding

So the rafters and the ceiling joice's are up and the siding is put on. Soon the decking will go on and she will be 'In the dry' D & B

Trim up the trees!

You can barely see him, but there is a man in the tree. He is cutting off the lower branches so we have a better view. He will be back to take out a tree in the front yard. D & B

WALLS...

And now comes the walls! Soon the rafters and roof... we are moving out on this house. D & B

Decking...

And then the plywood goes down for the sub floor! D & B

Foundation....

So after the trailer came out, now the floor foundation! YAH! D & B

Real Work Begins!

So much work to make this livable! Tomorrow the foundation will be laid and the back porch torn off. D & B

What a mess!

The old mobile being moved out, and what a mess! But now the real work begins! D & B

AND THE WORK BEGINS!

The men worked all day removing the sides and rafter. By the end of the day, the house had been cut in half so that the trailer can be pulled out! It will be a nice place when we are finished. (If I keep saying it, it will come true!) D & B

The new back porch poles are in the ground!

The View...

This is why we bought that dinky green house...The VIEW is beautiful!

Of course, it needs a new bulkhead, pier and boat lift. OH, and a new house. Do I hear....Money Pit???

New House

This is our new home...I know, what were we thinking. Just wait till we get it fixed up, it will be MUCH different!

Watts Bar

This is the Watts Bar Nuclear Plant. This is where our baby is going to work for the next 10 months. She is designing the piping supports for the new reactor that will be coming on line. D & B

Marty

This here is Marty! He is a Youth minister in El Paso at the Westside Church of Christ. While I was visiting we took a group of his kids to Carlsbad. This was in the caverns, his head touches the top! D & B

El Paso

I got to go to El Paso for my birthday, so that I could see Marty. We went to Carlsbad Caverns and spent a great weekend together. Bubba stayed home and dog sat. D & B

On the Water

Bubba is out on the water again! That man loves to fish. It's been so hot that the fish are not cooperating. We're just bringing in a few. October and cooler weather can't get here fast enough! D & B

On the Boat

Does it look like Bubba is having fun! He is out on the lake, fishing! He loves being on the lake! And takes every opportunity to get out on the water he can get. D & B

Day Lily Farm

Bubba & I went to a Day Lily farm the other day with friends Anne & Harry. The day lilies were beautiful. I will include some of the pictures so you can see also. I did buy a few! D & B

Have seen everything!

Now you have seen everything! We were headed up the river to crappie fish when we came across a Sea-do pulling a chair on the water. You never know what you'll see here on the lake. D & B

Cooking fish

Bubba and Sonny are cooking fish on the front porch. No, this is not the BIG one. These are some Crappie we caught the day before. It was a great weekend! Wish you could have been here. D & B

The fish Bubba cooked are really good! So says Les and Diane, and Karen. Les is standing up because he is ready to get more!

Memorial Day Fishing...

It is Memorial Day weekend...Les and Sonny and Bubba go fishing for White Bass, only Les catches a 25 lb Yellow Catfish. It was huge! They did catch some white bass and one crappie, but the yellow cat was the catch of the day! That Les is so lucky when it comes to fishing! D & B

Herd of Doxies....

So one day our daughter was up visiting and my mom came up too. We went out to lunch, but didn't bring anything back. So the dogs got some Vienna Sausages. You can see them on the plate. Bubba is trying to feed them all... all 6 of them. Gwen, Buff, Sawyer, Daphne, Alex and Glory. D & B

Chickie in Ireland

This is our daughter, Stephanie and our niece, Christy in Ireland. They are at the Cliffs of Moher, they had a great time! They said it was very cold over there.

The Crappie are...

The other day the fish were bitting. Crappie and one white bass. They were very good fried up in corn meal! Yum! D & B

Jon's Birthday..

Our youngest son had a '30th' birthday on Sunday. This is him and his father. Happy Birthday Jonathan. love you, mom

Cleaning fish...

Why is he cleaning fish in my KITCHEN??? I guess he is going to have to build a fish cleaning table. Last week he caught 22 crappie and 10 white bass. We fried some up and they were really good! D&B

Gone fishing..

Bubba is waving good-bye as he is off fishing with Jim & Roger. They end up getting 8 crappie and 2 white bass. They caught a lot more, but those were keepers! D & B

The Fish Fry...

It's a beautiful day in Rockport! So we had a fish fry! Did we catch the fish??? No! Ann did! a 44 inch Red! and he was really good! Some of our Winter Texan friends came. Jim & Ruth, Joyce & Dave are from Minnesota. Ed & Lois are from Wisconsin, and Marvin & Diana are from Arizona. The rest of us are Texans. It was a lovely evening with great food, great weather and great friendships. D & B
